PhotoTidy Privacy Policy

PhotoTidy (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights when you use PhotoTidy on iOS.

By using PhotoTidy, you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information PhotoTidy Accesses

1.1 Photos and Videos

PhotoTidy requests access to your Photo Library via Apple’s PhotoKit framework to scan for duplicate photos, similar photos, blurry photos, screenshots, and large videos.

All photo analysis happens locally on your iPhone. Your photos and videos are never uploaded to any server, cloud service, or third party. We do not receive, store, or have access to your photos at any point.

1.2 Contacts

With your permission, PhotoTidy can scan your contacts to identify duplicates and incomplete entries. All contact analysis is performed locally on your device. We do not transmit your contact data to any server.

1.3 Calendar

With your permission, PhotoTidy can scan your calendar events to find duplicates and expired entries. All calendar analysis is performed locally on your device. We do not transmit your calendar data to any server.

1.4 Device Information for Advertising

PhotoTidy displays advertising provided by Google AdMob to support free use of the App. To deliver these ads, AdMob may collect:

Device identifiers (IDFA, if you grant tracking permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt)
Coarse location (country/region)
Device type, OS version, language
App usage events related to ad display

If you decline tracking through the App Tracking Transparency prompt, PhotoTidy serves non-personalized ads only.

1.5 Crash and Diagnostic Data

PhotoTidy may collect anonymized crash reports and performance metrics via Apple’s standard diagnostic frameworks to improve stability. This data is processed by Apple and does not include personal identifiers.

2. What PhotoTidy Does NOT Do

We do not upload your photos or videos to any server.
We do not require you to create an account.
We do not ask for your email, name, phone number, or any personal identifier.
We do not sell your data to third parties.
We do not track you across other apps or websites (unless you grant ATT consent for personalized ads).
We do not scan or read your contact details, calendar entries, or photos remotely.

3. Third-Party Services

Google AdMob — Display advertising. Data accessed: IDFA (if ATT granted), device info, ad interaction events.
Apple PhotoKit — Local photo library access. Data accessed: Photos (locally only, never transmitted).
Apple Contacts framework — Local contact access. Data accessed: Contacts (locally only, never transmitted).
Apple EventKit — Local calendar access. Data accessed: Calendar events (locally only, never transmitted).
Apple App Tracking Transparency — Tracking consent (Apple-managed prompt).

4. Children’s Privacy

PhotoTidy is rated 4+ but is not specifically directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has inadvertently provided us with personal data, please contact us at the email below and we will delete it.

For ads served to users identified as under 13 (by your device settings), we tag ad requests with COPPA-compliant flags.

5. Your Rights

Photos / Contacts / Calendar: You can revoke access at any time via iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos / Contacts / Calendars → PhotoTidy.
App Tracking Transparency: You can change your tracking choice at any time via iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → PhotoTidy.
Personalized Ads from Google: You can opt out via Apple’s ATT prompt, or learn more at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads

If you wish to make a GDPR or CCPA request that relates to data processed by Google AdMob, please follow Google’s instructions in their privacy policy.

6. Data Retention

Photos / Contacts / Calendar data: Never leaves your device. Retention is fully controlled by you through iOS Settings.
Anonymized ad interaction data: Retained by Google AdMob according to their policies.
Crash reports: Retained by Apple according to their policies.

We do not retain any personal data on servers under our control.

7. Security

Because all photo, contact, and calendar processing happens on your device, your data is protected by iOS system-level security. For advertising-related data handled by Google AdMob, please refer to Google’s security practices.

8. International Users

PhotoTidy is available globally through the Apple App Store. Because we do not transmit personal data to our own servers, no cross-border data transfer occurs for your photos, contacts, or calendar.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
